Francie Desimone and Margie Geiger are sisters who are both retired from their careers. Francie was a Computer Software Training instructor at the State University of New York Educational Opportunity Center, and Margie was a Retail Business Manager for Glaxo Smithkline.
Both women have always had an inherit love of design whether it be for houses, clothing or jewelry. Taking jewelry classes throughout their lives was always a hobby. However, their ability to express themselves in a truly unique way came about after taking their first precious metal clay class. From that point their desire to learn became insatiable. Certification as a precious metal clay artist became a reality, and, as a result, selling their beautiful pieces was inevitable. Contemporary Statements, handcrafted fine silver jewelry, was created.
When asked to identify specific influences on their work, both Margie and Francie can only say that the designs truly evolve from within. Creating unique fine silver pieces combined with sterling silver and semi precious stones allows the women the creative outlet that they both love. The result of all this love and attention to detail is a unique, handcrafted, wearable work of art.
